We developed several projects for Rita Lobo – renovation of apartments and workspaces, including the current Estúdio Panelinha and the renovation of her apartment at the top of the Paulista Avenue spur. The unevenness of the original apartment, built in the 1960s, was redesigned with an island-shaped piece of furniture, which organizes the spaces around it: living, dining, reading, working spaces, and also the piano are satellites to this wooden piece of furniture, partly supported on the higher floor, partly projected onto the lower floor. The kitchen, as could not be otherwise, is a fundamental space of the apartment, it is open to the living room and organized around a countertop, like a “living kitchen”, as Rita herself named one of her first books. Rita’s personality is dominant in the result and noticeable everywhere – a confirmation for us that the project was fully realized.
